— What We Are —
Not just a market. An institution.
Black House Pink Market is a women-led micro-economic movement operating as an event series, a mutual aid membership, and a community think tank. It exists at the intersection of commerce, culture, and care — with Black women entrepreneurs at the center.
01
The Name
Black House honors the power of being in the black — financially, culturally, ancestrally. The house always wins when the house is built by us.
02
The Market
Pink Market is the micro-economy women have always built — reinvesting in social wellness, not just individual gain. In opposition to the pink tax. In service of the whole.
03
The Philosophy
When women are given resources, they invest in their communities. BHPM is infrastructure for that instinct — turning individual transactions into collective momentum.
04
The Audience
BHPM centers women entrepreneurs — with a deliberate focus on Black women business owners — and welcomes all women who share the values of this movement.
— The Three Pillars —
How the movement moves.
The Market
Events & Celebration
A recurring series of markets, cultural celebrations, and community gatherings — anchored in Black history, built around Black commerce. Vendors, community, and joy in the same space.
The Susu
Mutual Aid Membership
A structured Susu where members contribute monthly to support a rotating featured business owner. Contributions can be monetary, in-kind, or volunteer hours — because generosity takes many forms.
The Floor
Community Voice & Publication
The Floor is where community speaks. Trusted facilitators gather voice through discussions and hack-a-thons — feeding a sealed think tank that turns feedback into programming and published insight.
— Why It Matters —
A market built by women. A movement built for everyone.
If you educate a man, you educate an individual. If you educate a woman, you educate a nation.
The same principle holds for capital. When women receive resources, they inject them into social wellness — into children, into neighbors, into communities. Black House Pink Market is not charity. It is not a pop-up. It is economic infrastructure built on the oldest truth in the room: the womb is the most productive force on earth, and the market it builds feeds everyone.
— Community Infrastructure —
The Floor is open.
BHPM is guided by a sealed think tank — anonymous, intentional, and accountable to the community through The Floor. Trusted facilitators hold space for real conversation, then carry community voice into programming, publications, and action.
Community Discussions
Facilitated conversations where members bring real questions, hard truths, and community needs to the table.
Hack-a-thons
Structured problem-solving sessions where the community builds solutions together for shared challenges and goals.
Community Outreach
Health screenings, grab-and-go dinners for single-parent households, and direct-service events that close real gaps.
The Publication
A journal documenting the movement, publishing insight, and archiving the community’s work for generations.
