The Working Glossary

Every term you need to read a government solicitation and build a complete response, plus how the vocabulary shifts from federal to your state. Search it, filter it, keep it open while you work.

PART 1 · THE TERMS

Search the glossary

Type a term or filter by category. Definitions hold across jurisdictions; where a word changes by state, you will see a note pointing to the selector below.

Part 2 · The Vernacular Selector

Switch to your jurisdiction

Pick where you are working. The same concepts, named the way that government names them.

Why this matters: calling a sealed-bid an IFB in a state that says ITB, or sending a W-9 to a state that does not take one, is the kind of small miss that reads as inexperience. Match the local vocabulary and your response looks like it belongs.
